Comparison between Weber ’ s electrodynamics and classical electrodynamics
We present the main aspects of Weber’s electrodynamics and of Maxwell’s equations. We discuss Maxwell’s point of view related to Weber’s electrodynamics. We compare Weber’s force with Lorentz’s force. We analyse the relation between Weber’s law and Maxwell’s equations. Finally, we discuss some experiments performed and proposed with which we can distinguish Weber’s force from Lorentz’s one.
متن کاملMassless Classical Electrodynamics
In the direct action form of classical EM we give the equation of motion for a classical massless bare charge without self-interaction in the presence of an external field. That equation permits superluminal speeds and time-reversals, and so is a realization of the Stueckelberg-Feynman view of electrons and positrons as different segments of a single trajectory. We give a particular solution to...
متن کاملInconsistency in Classical Electrodynamics
I show that the standard approach to modeling phenomena involving microscopic classical electrodynamics is mathematically inconsistent. I argue that there is no conceptually unproblematic and consistent theory covering the same phenomena to which this inconsistent theory can be thought of as an approximation; and I propose a set of conditions for the acceptability of inconsistent theories. 1. I...

18. a) Using the results obtained in problem (2.17) above, we are to find a closed-form expression for the Green’s function for the interior of a cylinder of radius b with Dirichlet boundary conditions. From our general work with solutions to the Laplace equation with Green’s functions and from our work about in problem (2.17), we know that the Green’s function for the interior of the cylinder ...
